Ledbetter Anniversary - One Year Later!

Last year on January 29th , after a long struggle, President Obama was presented the Lilly Ledbetter Act, the first bill he signed into law. This law restored the ability of workers to vindicate their right to equal pay in court, putting the law back to where it had been for decades. New Economics of Marriage: The Rise of Wives

Women are outpacing their husbands in both education and salary growth, according to Pew Research released today."The institution of marriage has undergone significant changes in recent decades as women have outpaced men in education and earnings growth. These unequal gains have been accompanied by gender role reversals in both the spousal characteristics and the economic benefits of marriage."

My report from the NYWA Annual Meeting 2009

As with many of you 2009 was a challenging year for NYWA. But through a great deal of hard work we and our Coalition members have come through energized and excited.
