NYWA's President, Beverly Cooper Neufeld, was called to testify at the New York City Council hearings on the plan to build the first Walmart in New York City. The Council also heard from former employees, labor and legal experts detailing allegations of gender discrimination, low wages and locking employees inside stores. The Council wanted to hear from NYWA’s representative as an organization at the forefront of the fight for pay equity.
